MD for a PE backed iDNO

One of our PE clients asked us to source an MD for a newly created iDNO. As the first employee the new MD was tasked with securing licence to operate through OFGEM and building the team from scratch. Our search identified several high-quality candidates within a notoriously challenging market. The successful candidate joined from a competitor iDNO. The company has established its licence and is now winning its first business in this highly competitive market.


MD for water services company

We were asked by an infrastructure fund to secure the MD of one of their portfolio companies. The company held large and long-term contracts in the water sector with time to run. But value was in danger of abating as the contracts neared their end of life. The new MD was hired to manage the efficient delivery of these contracts whilst seeking to secure longer term value generation, by diversifying and extending existing contracts as well as expanding into new customers. Our search identified a high quality and varied short-list of candidates. The chosen candidate was hired from an adjacent market with limited water sector experience, instead he brought career length experience winning and delivering large support services contracts within the client accounts.


Chair & NEDs for FTSE 250 Infrastructure Fund

This fund approached Satori to support the Board in enacting a rotation plan. The initial brief was to secure a Chair and 2-3 NEDs over a period of 18-24 months. This would start with the appointment of one NED, which has been completed with the hiring of a retiring CFO from a major ring-fenced bank. This was her first independent NED role. Her appointment signalled Satori’s ability to engage talented senior executives seeking their first NED appointments and our ability to recognise high potential Directors. Our work in the boardroom has shaped our perspectives on Director quality, in a way that is highly unusual across the executive search profession.


COO for a UK water company

A change of ownership stimulated early retirement of the incumbent COO and Satori were approached to secure a replacement. Our search whilst centred on the water sector also expanded into adjacent infrastructure and utilities markets. Our short-list all made it through to NomCo interviews allowing the Board a viable choice between two candidates. The selected candidate had a water company background and has held a similar role within a larger business. His appointment has been a major success, leading performance improvement and culture change throughout the company.


Senior BDM for electrical ICP

A PE backed company sought our support in securing them a new Senior BD professional to exploit opportunities in the I&C market. The I&C market was critical to the onward success of the business and especially to its associated and newly formed iDNO. Our search resulted in the appointment of a senior sales professional from a direct competitor and has enabled the business to grow further into the I&C market.


Audit Chair for a UK water company

Having conducted a successful board performance review, Satori were asked to support the board in identifying and securing a new Audit Chair. Our prior engagement had enabled us to better understand and advise on the balance of the board. We supported the creation of the role specification and consulted closely on search strategy. The process resulted in the appointment of a young female and ethnically diverse Director who had recently embarked on her NED career. An economist by background, her appointment was a little non-standard and she is now providing significant value to the company, its board and the executive team.


Project Director for major reservoir build

We were engaged by a water company to support the appointment of a project director to client the delivery of the UKs largest reservoir in a generation. Our search took us across the full breadth of the infrastructure project delivery market where we identified and developed candidates from a variety of sectors. The chosen appointee had recently delivered a major airport redevelopment programme under budget and on time.
