Ian Muir is a Companion of the Chartered Management Institute, a Fellow of the Institute of Personnel and Development and a member of the European Mentoring and Coaching Council. He is a graduate of Bath University and an alumnus of INSEAD.
Formerly a Trustee Director of a £2.2bn pension fund, a Group HR Director and member of the Executive Committee of a FTSE150 multinational, he is now an independent consultant.
He has delivered board evaluations and facilitation work for multi-sector organisations, These include Charter International plc, ESAB Holdings Limited, Cable & Wireless International, SeeAbility, the national charity, Sureserve Group Plc, a major UK regulator and a large professional institute (with global reach and a Royal Charter).
He designed and ran a complex 360-degree feedback review for the Chair of a UK regulator, culminating in their re-appointment by The Privy Council. He has facilitated numerous executive teams and provided mentoring services to The Financial Conduct Authority, Cass Business School and a UK regulator. He has delivered over 80 executive assessments to PE-owned and listed companies in the USA, Europe and the Middle East.
Ian is a NED with the Architects Registration Board. He has presented to senior audiences at business schools including Ashridge, Kent Business School, Brunel and the Bath executive MBA programme. His book “The Tone From The Top – how behaviour trumps strategy” is available as a Gower / Routledge business hardback worldwide.
